Senior Year
“Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door.” —Kyle Chandler
Between figuring out where the start to the rest of your life is headed or simply wanting to enjoy those final moments, senior year is jam-packed. College applications and starting a business within this year of CIBACS round out all your experiences into a single cirrculm. To going on a trip with the whole class to making the most connections with teachers, senior year in my opinion is where I have felt most connected to my peers.
Combining all of my CIBACS and high school experiences I will use my knowledge in business and communication to develop effective college applications as well as become helpful in guiding others with my leadership skills.
Applying to College
In applying to 19 colleges, filling out applications with essays, activities lists, and letters of recommendation this is definitely not a time I would want to relive. After all the stress of getting decisions back was done I dcided to attend the University of Arizona in the fall. In helpping me through applicationh season Mrs. Barro helped us perfect our writing. To the side is my main essay I submitted to each school.
Trying New Things
One part of my last year of high school I wanted to focus on was trying new things. I did this by having a ceramics class to give be a break of creativity throughout my day. Not only have I learned a new art medium, I have meet many new people. Here are some examples of my work from this year.
New York Trip
Planned out by CIBACS Senior Sandahl Blake, our senior class took a trip to New York in April. Hanging out with friends and connecting with teachers was a great experience in the big apple. My top moments included visiting the 9/11 memorial, pizza at Joes, shopping at 5 avenue, and taking pictures at night on the Empire State Building.
